International Women's Day is observed throughout the world on 8th March. Vidya Vikas Academy also witnessed the Women's Day Celebrations at the campus on 08th March 2011.
A special assembly was conducted for the students of Classes 5 to 9. Students of Class 5 had a prayer service at the assembly. Principal Alan Rodrigues also addressed the gathering. Mrs. Wilma Alphonso co-ordinated the event.
On this occasion, Principal also gave away the certificates to students as well teachers who participated in the Pitch Black Project III organised by Creatiwity Works in Association with Sports Authority of Goa in the month of February. 
This project was an attempt to give an exposure of professional dancing to the under-priviledged children and also breaking the different barriers between the under-previledged and the previledged children bringing them together through this event.
