Republic Day was celebrated with great fervour and patriotism at Vidya Vikas Academy. The Management Members, Principal, Staff, Students & Parents attended the function in large numbers. Shri. R. G. Kare, President of Vidya Vikas Mandal was the Chief Guest for the function. 
The Tri-Colour was unfurled at the hands of the Chief Guest and the National Anthem was sung. The Chief Guest was accompanied by Mr. Vinayak Angle and Principal Mr. Alan Rodrigues.
Mast. Shourya Chaturvedi, a NCC Cadet of Class 9 spoke on the importance of Republic Day. Students of Class 2 presented an outstanding and realistic demonstration of our freedom fighters. Students of Class 3 sang "Sare Jahan Se Acha" followed by a dance presented by students of Class 1.
Shri. R. G Kare in his speech emphasised the importance of freedom, unity and then the Republic India. He also highlighted the importance of education, discipline and respect for parents and teachers. The function concluded with singing of Vande Mataram by Miss. Shruti Parulekar of Class 6. Mrs. Satya Sharma compered while other senior teachers co-ordinated the function.
Sweets were distributed to the pupils and guests after the function.
