Master Shorya Chaturvedi of Class 9, a talented NCC Cadet of VVA had a life time experience when he visited INS Hansa, the Naval Air Base in Goa. He was guided by Lt.Cdr R.K Laxman, a highly experienced naval aviator since last 18 years.
He operates a twin blade helicopter Kamov 31, which is used for spying, patrolling and war. Cadet Shorya saw IC 38 Sea Dragon its special features are radar detecting devices, high profile warfare and four turbo-prop engines. After Sea Dragon, Shorya explored Sea Harriers which is the only VSTOL (Vertical Short take-off and landing) aircraft serving Indian Navy since 1922 and will retire in 2015.
He also got an opportunity to see Topelo the biggest aircraft in Indian Navy followed by MiG-29K a supersonic aircraft, after which he went to Sea-Harrier Simulator to operate it, which was really a thrilling experience for him.
